AGIS can import .trk, .rte and .wpt files produced by Garmin handheld GPS units
downloaded using the Garmin PCX5 software. The display below shows the
sample files provided with the PCX5 software displayed over digital
chart of the world data. Routes are shown in pink, tracks in black,
and waypoints as yellow dots with associated waypoint IDs and descriptive
text.
Using your Garmin GPS with AGIS allows you to place your GPS
acquired data onto high quality maps for publication or presentation.
Measuring distances, planning expeditions, combining multiple data sets
and a host of other capabilities are then available to you.
AGIS GPS capabilities were developed and tested using the Garmin GPS 12
